Ozone is one of nature's most effective purifiers. Ozone systems, whether for hot tubs or public drinking water systems, work the same way by continuously injecting millions of tiny, highly concentrated ozone bubbles into the water, neutralizing contaminants on contact.
The natural approach to reduce the use of these chemicals is to maintain an up-to-date Ozone System. And so, just as your town often swaps out the ozone purifier for the town's drinking water supply, your spa's ozone will require renewal as well.
Almost all of the hot tubs we sell include an ozone system. The Corona Discharge High Output Ozone Systems last a full 3 years and the UV Bulb Ozone Systems (now discontinued) last about 18 Months.
BUT I STILL HAVE BUBBLES!? All ozone systems will continue to release bubbles but will lose effectiveness over time. Eventually the bubbles will be void of ozone and therefore the purification abilities that allow you to use less chemicals are effectively gone.
