The Silver Club

The Fresh Water Silver Ion (Ag+) Cartridge plays a vital part to keeping pure, near chemical-free water. This Silver Ion cartridge introduces silver ions (Ag+) into the spa’s water, inhibiting bacteria growth. Silver is both a bacteriostat – it inhibits the growth of bacteria (including on surface areas and in the plumbing lines) from ever getting started, and in some cases can act as a bactericide – when combined with minimal amounts of MPS or chlorine, bacteria are killed on contact.

How often do I need to replace this cartridge to maintain pure, bacteria free water? While most times there are enough silver ions in each cartridge to last over 3 months, after about 4 months of immersion the ions have all been released. (More than that could result in damage to your pumps as the cartridge starts to break down) So, as a service to our customers we have designed the Silver Club.
